There are three ways to disrupt the current socio-economic system
1. Our current socio-economic system feeds off the commons and nature, and superimposing a price (thus devaluing) on both, so if you want to bring its downfall, one way to do it is to find ways to preserve the commons and nature. This is in line with This will also have the beneficial side-effect of preserving as much as possible of what is sacred from destruction and making for a more rapid and yet less painful transition to a new socio-economic system for everyone.
2. The second that goes hand in hand with the first is to find ways to make the current system obsolete. Invent new systems, technologies, communities, projects and ways of treating the planet and each other that make the old system cease to make sense, or become glaringly broken. This can be done by creating effective solutions and alternatives such as an ecological non-growth based economy, sustainable abundant local food systems, benevolent and democratic technologies, conflict-resolving and harmonising communities and co-operative democratically owned businesses.
3. The third approach, and perhaps the one of utmost importance, starts from within and can be done by anybody. Changing the world has a strange way of defying any scale. Slowing down, relaxing, changing the paradigm of the small bubble of your life, practicing loving-kindness to yourself, and the people around you and reconnecting with your body, with the earth and with all life. Great change starts from within and in the vicinity. Somebody who dedicates their life to caring for their ailing grandmother is just as much changing and disrupting the paradigm as someone who publishes books or gives world tours on their ethical work. Don't question the ripple effect.
